Friday Health Plans of Oklahoma members and their providers do NOT need to file a proof of claim UNLESS the receiver advises their claims exceed the coverage provided by the Oklahoma Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association.

All coverage by Friday Health Plans of Oklahoma (“FHP-OK”) ended at 11:59 PM on August 31, 2023.

For FHP-OK Members:

The Receiver is reviewing FHP-OK records to identify all premium overpayments. The Receiver will refund premium amounts identified in this process which are above $10.00. The Receiver expects to complete this process before February 15, 2024.

If you believe that you are due a premium refund, you should file a Proof of Claim which is available for download below.

On April 4, 2023, the Oklahoma Insurance Department placed FHP-OK into supervision. It was determined that the company was insolvent and they were unable to raise sufficient capital. Therefore, the Company agreed to receivership. This process will help protect Oklahoma consumers as the company winds down its operation.

Yes, to avoid a lapse in coverage you must pay your premium to FHP-OK through August 31, 2023.

Yes, the premium subsidy will continue until your FHP-OK coverage ends. You will also continue to receive a subsidy for your new health plan as long as you are eligible.

Yes, subject to the terms of your policy. Also, statutory provisions of the Oklahoma Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association may impact a small number of members (i.e. claims in excess of $500,000). See https://www.oklifega.org for additional information.

For FHP-OK Providers:

No, it is prohibited by the receivership order (copy of the order available below) in Section 27, on page 7. Continue to submit claims through the regular portal.

Yes, where applicable, these laws continue to apply.

Receivership Information

Friday Health Plans of Oklahoma (“FHP-OK”) was placed into administrative supervision on April 4, 2023, by consent order. During this period of enhanced supervision, the Oklahoma Insurance Department has closely monitored FHP-OK and determined that continued operation of FHP-OK was not possible without putting members at risk. Therefore, on June 2, 2023, the Insurance Commissioner of Oklahoma filed the Application for Order Placing Friday Health Plans of Oklahoma, Inc. Into Receivership, Appointing Receiver, and Issuing Injunction (see above).

On June 13, 2023, the Oklahoma County District Court approved the Agreed Order Placing Friday Health Plans of Oklahoma, Inc. Into Receivership, Appointing Receiver, and Permanent Injunction. The Oklahoma Insurance Department has coordinated with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (“CMS”) to open a Special Enroll Period to assist members on the Exchange find a new Exchange Health Plan. On June 23, 2023, the Receiver filed and the Oklahoma County District Court approved the Order of Liquidation With a Finding of Insolvency (see above). This Order sets the date of liquidation to September 1, 2023 and affirms the Special Enrollment Period Dates.
